
Ukraine and Azerbaijan agree to expand cooperation in landmine clearance
Ukrainian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Yuri Gusev met with Vugar Suleymanov, Head of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action. During the meeting, the main directions of cooperation between Ukraine and Azerbaijan in the humanitarian demining field were discussed.
The diplomat noted that an agreement was reached on future practical steps to deepen collaboration in this area.
To remind, Russian Presidential Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov had previously stated that Kyiv will do its best to exacerbate problems in Russian-Azerbaijani relations.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had also announced that during a phone call with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, he expressed Ukraine’s support amid the alleged threat from Russia to Azerbaijan.
Peskov noted that Russia will defend the interests of its citizens detained in Azerbaijan and will use all available means to do so. He also added that Russia does not threaten Azerbaijan.
