An attempt of smuggling large amounts of drugs from Iran
into Armenia has been reported by the RA National Security Service.
An extensive investigation into the case revealed that
Armenian citizens H.Gh. and A. Gh., along with an Iranian citizen whose identity
has not yet been discovered, belong to a criminal gang. According to advance
planning, they were going to acquire large amounts of drugs from the hiding
spot along the highway from Yerevan to Yeghegnadzor for further realization.
The criminal gang’s attempt was thwarted. They were stopped
by the officers of the RA NSS near Artashat town.
H.Gh. and A.Gh. were arrested as serious doubts
existed as to them having committed a crime.
