Russia and Azerbaijan should remain partners, says Peskov

Russian Presidential Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters that the issues arising between Russia and Azerbaijan should be resolved exclusively through constructive dialogue. He noted that Russia and Azerbaijan should remain partners and allies to uphold the common spirit of their bilateral relations.

He also noted that the Russian Embassy in Baku and Russia’s Foreign Ministry are in constant contact with the Azerbaijani side to protect the interests of detained Russian nationals.

To remind, relations between Russia and Azerbaijan had deteriorated after several Azerbaijanis were detained in Yekaterinburg. In response, Azerbaijan detained the head and chief editor of Sputnik Azerbaijan, as well as eight Russian citizens.
