Ombudsman: The Parliament should be a place for democratic discussions, not a ‘battlefield’

Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan strongly condemns the incident that took place on July 8 in the National Assembly involving deputies, the Office of the Ombudsman said in a statement.

“The Parliament should be a place for democratic discussions, not a ‘battlefield.’

The formation of appropriate mechanisms to address parliamentary ethics issues is an urgent matter on the agenda,” reads the statement.
