Artsakh state minister: The Azerbaijani Armed forces have been firing on the only wheat field of Sarushen village of Askeran for days on end
For days on end, the residents of Sarushen village of the
Askeran Province of Artsakh have been trying to harvest wheat from the only
wheat field of the village to earn their daily bread. However, the Azerbaijani
Armed Forces, positioned nearby, keep firing on the civilians and the
agricultural machinery approaching the field, Artsakh State Minister Gurgen
Nersisyan reports.
According to him, although the Russian peacekeepers and the
Azerbaijani side agree on the harvest schedule in advance and the agricultural
works are organized at the peacekeepers’ presence, as soon as the works start,
Azerbaijan opens fire from different caliber firearms. Afterward, they
immediately stop firing, and the Russian peacekeepers transfer the civilians to
a safer place.
