Donald Trump announces trade deal with Japan

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced a trade deal with Japan, imposing a 15 percent tariff on goods imported from the country.

“This deal will create hundreds of thousands of jobs. Such a thing has never happened before,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, adding that the United States will always maintain great relations with Japan.

He also stated that Japan will make a $550 billion investment in the U.S. and will open its economy to American automobiles and rice.

According to AP, Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba confirmed the new trade agreement, saying it will benefit both sides and help them work together more effectively.
