Russia’s deputy PM to visit Yerevan next week to discuss contradiction to EAEU legislation and transport unblocking

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk says he will travel to Yerevan next week, where he may meet with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, RIA Novosti reports.

“Next week I am traveling to Yerevan. The trip was planned in advance, and it was agreed upon during a meeting in Altai. It is related to the fact that a legal act has appeared in Armenia’s legislation — a government decision that, in our view, contradicts the Eurasian Economic Union legislation,” Overchuk said.

He added that during the visit, a meeting with Prime Minister Pashinyan is expected, during which they will discuss the nuances of unblocking transport communications in the South Caucasus region.

At the same time, Armenia’s Prime Minister is expected to visit Russia in the near future. “Nikol Vovaevich was in Russia two weeks ago. We are expecting him again in Russia soon,” Overchuk noted.
