During White House meeting, Zelenskyy thanked Trump 11 times

During a 4.5-minute meeting at the White House, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked former U.S. President Donald Trump 11 times for hosting him and other world leaders at the White House in an effort to bring Russia’s war against Ukraine to an end, The Washington Post writes.

Gratitude became the central theme of Zelenskyy’s remarks. He thanked Trump for the “good conversation,” for introducing the guests and journalists present at the meeting, and for displaying a map of Ukraine.

Other leaders followed Zelenskyy’s example, in turn expressing their thanks to the U.S. president for his leadership.

Previously, Zelenskyy had also thanked Melania Trump for drawing attention to the issue of Ukrainian children abducted by Russia.
