At least 35 die in explosion in Makhachkala
At least 35 people have been killed in the explosion at a
gas station in Makhachkala. According to RIA Novosti, the information was
confirmed by the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense,
Emergency Situations and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters.
“Two more bodies have been discovered under the
rubble,” the ministry noted.
Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that three
children were among the dead. Sixty-three people were taken to hospitals,
including 16 children. Eleven people are in serious condition. Another 17
people were given first aid and discharged afterward.
To remind, on Aug. 14, a fire broke out in Makhachkala.
Afterward, the fire spread through the gas station, and an explosion took
place.
