French PM to put government confidence to vote
French Prime Minister François Bayrou is going to put a confidence vote for his government before the National Assembly, Le Figaro reports.
“I have asked the President of the Republic to convene an extraordinary session of Parliament during which the government will raise the question of confidence,” Bayrou said during a press conference.
According to him, the session will take place on Sept. 8.
Bayrou justified his decision by citing the economic crisis, primarily the continued growth of national debt. He stated that France’s national debt is increasing by €12 million every hour and has now reached a total of €3.4 trillion.
