Putin and Erdoğan may meet in China during SCO summit
Russian and Turkish leaders could potentially meet in China at the end of August during the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit, RIA Novosti reports, citing a Turkish diplomatic source. It is not yet clear whether this would involve full-scale talks.
Earlier, Turkish diplomats indicated that President Erdoğan is likely to attend the SCO summit in China at the end of August. Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to visit China next week for a four-day trip, during which extensive negotiations between Russian and Chinese delegations are planned.
“Overall, considering the personal relationship between the Russian and Turkish leaders, they may greet each other or have a brief conversation,” the Turkish source added.
