New round of Putin–Trump talks may take place soon, says Kremlin

A second meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump may be held in the near future, Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said.

He noted that if necessary, the talks could be arranged very quickly. “It will happen just as swiftly as the meeting in Alaska was organized. The dialogue continues,” Peskov said.

According to him, the details of the negotiations have not yet been finalized, but preparations for another meeting could be expedited if required.

On the same day, Trump also said he wanted to meet with Putin, adding that their dialogue was progressing quite well.

Putin and Trump previously met in Alaska on Aug․ 15. The Russian president described the talks as constructive and said he had managed to establish a good rapport with his American counterpart. Trump, for his part, rated the meeting “10 out of 10.”
