The ARF Supreme Council of Armenia issued a statement,
noting that they would not run for the Yerevan Council of Elders Elections.
The Supreme Council noted that the Sept. 17 elections are
held in a situation when Armenia, Artsakh and our people, are facing serious
geopolitical challenges and threats.
“With this in mind, the ARF’s initial position
was that the opposition should run for the Yerevan Council of Elders elections
with a single electoral list. However, as this did not come true, the ARF Dashnaktsutyun
has decided not to put forward its separate party-list,” reads the
statement.
They also noted that the party will make another statement
after the candidates are nominated and their names are announced officially.
