Poland requests air defense systems from allies
Poland has asked its Western allies for additional air defense systems and counter-drone technology to better protect its territory, Bloomberg reports, citing sources.
According to the report, Warsaw made the request after drones “violated” its airspace during a massive aerial strike on neighboring Ukraine.
On Wednesday evening, Polish forces shot down at least 23 drones that entered its territory. Prime Minister Donald Tusk blamed Russia for the incident and said he has sought consultations with allies under Article 4 of the NATO treaty.
