11 patients transferred from Artsakh to RA hospitals after 11-day total blockade
Today, Aug.8, under the mediation and supervision of the
Artsakh Office of the International Committee of the Red Cross, 11 patients
were transferred to RA specialty hospitals from the Republican Medical Center
of Artsakh Ministry of Health. The patients were transferred to Armenia to
receive immediate medical treatment after an 11-day total blockade.
Nine of these patients are undergoing a course of in-center
hemodialysis. However, they are not provided with the necessary medical care on
account of the shortage of medicines and medical supplies and are met with a
threat of death as a result. As for the other two patients, they are in a
serious condition caused by cancer.
Nine patients are expected to return to Artsakh with their
attendants in ICRC vehicles today. They were transferred to the Republic of
Armenia to receive state-funded treatment.
The Azerbaijani side still does not allow the delivery of
essential medicines and medical supplies to Artsakh in ICRC vehicles, while
many patients are still waiting for their transfer to the Republic of Armenian
and for the return to Artsakh after the treatment.
