Sand mine near Yerevan: Source of serious illnesses, destroying children’s future
If sand or dust collects on your windowsill every day, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the air in Yerevan is polluted, according to Mayor Tigran Avinyan, who claims that the air quality in the capital is excellent.
The mayor insists that any perceived air quality issues are just a matter of perception. Yet, in reality, the air in the city continues to suffocate its residents. Facts contradict Avinyan’s statements: uncontrolled construction works, landfills that are frequently set on fire, vehicle emissions, and tree cutting are the main sources of air pollution.
