Nestlé chairman to step down shortly after CEO’s ouster over love affair scandal
Nestlé’s Chairman Paul Bulcke will step down earlier than planned, just weeks after the sudden dismissal of CEO Laurent Freixe, Euronews writes.
To remind, the organization’s CEO, Laurent Freixe, was fired earlier this month for having an undisclosed romantic relationship with a direct subordinate.
The decision of Bulcke’s resignation comes after shareholders criticized the chairman’s handling of a scandal involving the firm’s CEO.
Despite media speculation, Nestlé has denied that Bulcke sought to defend and shield Freixe during the early stages of the investigation.
