US tech giants to invest $42B in British tech sector

Britain and the United States have agreed a technology pact to boost ties in AI, quantum computing and civil nuclear energy, with top U.S. firms led by Microsoft pledging $42 billion in UK investments, Euronews writes.

Britain said the pact included joint efforts to develop AI models for healthcare, expand quantum computing capabilities and streamline civil nuclear projects. In addition, the multibillion-dollar deal involves a partnership between nuclear energy companies. Experts have called the agreement a “deal for technological prosperity.”

Under its main terms, American tech giants Microsoft, Nvidia, Google and OpenAI will invest about $42.3 billion in the British economy.

As a result, the kingdom is predicted to have Europe’s largest Nvidia graphics processor cluster by the end of 2026.
