China could end war in Ukraine but chooses not to, says Zelenskyy

Russia is dependent on China, and Beijing has the power to end the war in Ukraine but is not taking that step, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a UN Security Council session dedicated to the Russia-Ukraine war, president.gov.ua writes.

“If China truly wanted to stop this war, it could force Moscow to end its invasion,” Zelenskyy stated. Without China, Putin’s Russia is nothing. Yet China far too often remains silent and stands aside instead of taking active steps toward peace.”

Zelenskyy noted that another country that could push Russia to stop the war, is the United States. “Moscow fears America and always pays attention to it,” the Ukrainian president said.
