All enriched uranium stockpiles in Iran must be destroyed, says Netanyahu

Israel insists that all of Iran’s enriched uranium stockpiles must be completely destroyed, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in an address to the U.N. General Assembly, TASS reports.

Israel’s prime minister noted that Israel had previously inflicted significant damage on Iran’s nuclear program but stressed the need for vigilance. “We cannot allow Iran to restore its military nuclear potential. Its enriched uranium stockpiles must be eliminated, and U.N. Security Council sanctions against Iran must be reinstated tomorrow,” Netanyahu stated.

Netanyahu also said that Israel’s 12-day military campaign had dealt devastating damage to Iran and, in his view, “will enter the annals of military history.”

“We eliminated the threat to Israel’s existence from Iran and the deadly threat to the entire civilized world,” he added, noting that during the operation, Israel had targeted “senior military officials and leading scientists involved in nuclear weapon development.”
