Since the very moment when the Republic of Armenia
recognized Nagorno-Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan, leveling criticism at the
Russian peacekeepers has not been a proper thing to do. Russian Foreign
Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said this today during her weekly
briefing.
“Russia continues to support the idea of the
normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. We do our best to
establish peace in the South Caucasus,” she said.
Drawing attention to the recent meetings, Zakharova noted that
there can be no loss of momentum in talks.
“We should face up to reality. Does Nikol Pashinyan
want the withdrawal of the Russian peacekeepers from Nagorno-Karabakh in this
situation of the humanitarian crisis?
Manipulation with words will lead to a bad end. There is no
room for double standards,” Zakharova said.
