Garik Karapetyan (102 kilograms) from the Armenian national
weightlifting team won a gold medal in the European Junior and U23
Championships held in Bucharest, Romania.
The Armenian weightlifter competed in the under-20 age
category, and achieving a total of 386 kilograms (181+205), stood on the
winner’s podium. Karapetyan took golds in the clean and jerk and the snatch as
well.
To remind, Garik Karapetyan was also crowned winner in April
in the 2023 European Weightlifting Championships held in Yerevan with a total
of 392 kilograms.
The European Junior and U23 Weightlifting Championships is
held from July 23 to Aug. 3.
