Kyrgyzstan’s president proposes to reinstate capital punishment
Kyrgyzstan’s President Sadyr Japarov has proposed reinstating the death penalty in the country, TASS reports, citing the official confirmation from the president’s press secretary, Askat Alagozov.
“The president has instructed Murat Ukushev, head of the Legal Support Department of the Presidential Administration, to draft legislative amendments that would impose the harshest punishments for crimes against children, girls, and women. Specifically, this involves introducing the death penalty for child rape, as well as rape and murder of women,” Alagozov said.
