Ruben Vardanyan: If your wife had come out of the bunker, she would have known how many women there were in Stepanakert back then

The prime minister of Armenia does not have the right to
talk about his dislike for Artsakh during his press conference. Former State
Minister of Artsakh Ruben Vardanyan said this.

“We are placed in a dangerous situation and if you are the
prime minister of Armenia, with which the responsibility of Artsakh rests, you
must spare no effort to struggle with us for the sake of Armenian Artsakh.
Instead, you say that we have no option but to cede Artsakh. These are not
words to be uttered by a leader.

Mr. Prime Minister, you are wrong in claiming that everyone
left Stepanakert. Both women and men were there in Stepanakert. If your wife
had come out of the bunker, she would have known how many women there were in
Stepanakert back then. If you had had the wish to understand the actual
situation in Artsakh, you would have known how many people there were in
Artsakh back then and how many people fought till the end. There is no need to
create this division among people, namely people from Artsakh or people from
Armenia. There is no need for this division based on the dialect people speak.
It is incumbent on you to ensure that the Republic of Armenia and Artsakh
remain Armenian,” he said.

He noted that we cannot have peace if we call every man a
deserter, if we call every woman unhappy, if we announce that Mount Ararat does
not belong to us, that the anthem needs to be changed, that the church is no
good and finally that Artsakh is not ours.

“Mr. Prime Minister, the money provided to Artsakh did
not come out of your own pocket. If you mention a certain amount, then please
be so kind as to mention what the Republic of Armenia has received from
Artsakh. You do not have the right to make calculations. You could have
organized it the way so that everything would have been effective and
transparent, so that the money would have been used to worthwhile ends. And it
is this that decides how good of a leader you are. You cannot put a price on
the Motherland,” Vardanyan said.
