Explosion near Damascus; 6 killed, 46 injured

Six people were killed and 46 were injured in the explosion
that occurred in the capital of Syria, Damascus.

According to the state media, a motorcycle-borne explosive
device caused the explosion.

The Ministry of Health reports that 20 people sustained
minor injuries and underwent on-the-spot medical treatment. The rest were taken
to hospital.

This has been the second explosion in Damascus within the
past few days. On July 25, two people were injured in a motorcycle explosion.
