Greta Thunberg and Sumud Fleet activists report torture in Israeli prison
Swedish environmentalist and eco-activist Greta Thunberg, along with other activists from the Sumud flotilla, have reportedly been subjected to torture in an Israeli prison. According to Reuters, a human rights defender made the claim at a press conference held in Stockholm.
The activist stated that during her detention, she was denied access to clean water, while other detainees were deprived of life-essential medications.
On Oct. 3, Israel detained several vessels from the flotilla, which were en route to the Gaza Strip on a humanitarian mission.
On Oct. 6, Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced their deportation.
