85,000–100,000 Azerbaijanis will settle in the territory of Armenia, i.e. in the enclaves. Adopting such a solution after the 44-day war will pave the way for a new conflict: Vardan Oskanyan (video)

The current actions of the RA authorities may bring about a
new war. Former Foreign Minister of Armenia Vardan Oskanyan made a statement on
this.

“Armenia is ceding enclaves. Cession of these
territories will seriously undermine our security as 85,000-100,000
Azerbaijanis will settle there. In fact, this is a rather serious problem. As a
matter of fact, Artsakh will end up as part of Azerbaijan, and its 120,000
population will fully assimilate into the Azerbaijani society. As for the
100,000 Azerbaijanis, who will come to settle in Armenia, they will not
assimilate into our culture. Most probably, the Armenian population of those
regions will assimilate into these Azerbaijani communities,” he said.

According to Oskanyan, adopting such a solution after the
44-day war will place us in a completely new situation.

“This is not a solution to the problem, as it will pave
the way for a new conflict. Therefore, I claim that the current actions of the
RA authorities may bring about a new war. The thing is that, on the one hand,
you constantly talk about that and claim that you are ready to do that, but on
the other hand, this is an unrealistic solution, and the overall process will
drag on. As a result, Azerbaijan will not wait any longer, as you made a
promise and now fail to fulfill it. This is how a new war will come,” Oskanyan
said.

According to Vardan Oskanyan, in that case, mediators cannot
do anything. Therefore, he asks them to remain silent.
