Switzerland halts acceptance of refugees from western Ukraine

Switzerland is suspending the admission of Ukrainian refugees from the country’s western regions and may even deport those who have already been granted protection, ua-reporter.com reports.

The decision affects residents of the Volyn, Rivne, Lviv, Ternopil, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Chernivtsi regions.

For other Ukrainian nationals, the asylum and protection program has been extended until March 4, 2027.

Earlier, Norway adopted a similar measure.
