US may deliver Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine if Russia refuses to settle war, says Trump

U.S. President Donald Trump said the United States could transfer Tomahawk long-range cruise missiles to Ukraine if Russia refuses to agree to a settlement of the war, currenttime.tv writes.

He added that he intends to discuss the matter with Vladimir Putin.

“I may have to speak with Russia. Do they want Tomahawks flying toward them? I don’t think so. I need to speak with Russia about this and say, ‘Look, if this war is not resolved, I will send them Tomahawks,’” Trump told reporters aboard the plane to Israel.

Trump warned that supplying Tomahawk missiles would represent “a new level of escalation.” He said he believes Putin would agree to a settlement, and that if Putin does not agree, it could end badly for him.
