Trump calls opposition leader a “nice man”

During a speech in the Knesset, U.S. President Donald Trump praised Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid as a “very nice opposition leader” and a “nice man”, NBC News writes.

“He is a nice man, Bibi; he is a nice man. Now you can be a little bit nicer, Bibi, because you’re not at war anymore, Bibi,” he joked, using Netanyahu’s nickname.

During his speech in the Knesset, Trump also suggested ending the investigation into Netanyahu.

“Mr. President, why don’t you pardon him? Whether you like it or not, he has become one of the best war leaders,” the U.S. leader said.

Netanyahu is accused of corruption.
