Erdogan could play key role in ending Russia-Ukraine war, says Trump

U.S. President Donald Trump has said that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan could help resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

“Erdogan can do it—Russia respects him. I can’t say anything about Ukraine, but Russia’s leader Vladimir Putin respects him, and he [Erdogan] is my friend,” Trump told reporters when asked whether the Turkish leader could assist in ending the war in Ukraine.
