Iran’s foreign minister faces backlash over family photo
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has come under public scrutiny after his wife, Arzu Ahmedvand, shared photos from their daughter’s birthday on Instagram.
The photos, which showed a cake and gifts decorated with American symbols, sparked heated debate on Iranian social media.
Some users argued that an official representative of Tehran should not use such symbols, calling it “inappropriate.”
Others, however, defended the family, saying the criticism was unfair.
“Does Araghchi’s status as a minister mean his child can’t celebrate her birthday? Nearly all children’s cakes today feature foreign cartoon characters,” some commenters wrote.
