OSCE chairperson’s visit to Azerbaijan postponed
The visit of Elina Valtonen, the current OSCE Chairperson and Finland’s Foreign Minister, to Azerbaijan has been postponed, Azerbaijani media reports, citing its sources.
Valtonen’s trip to Azerbaijan was originally scheduled for Oct. 13–15 as part of her regional tour of the South Caucasus. She visited Armenia on Oct. 14 and is set to travel to Georgia tomorrow.
Earlier, during a joint press conference with Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, Valtonen welcomed the agreement reached in Washington and noted that after the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group, relations will enter a new phase.
“The closure process of the OSCE Minsk Group will be completed no later than Dec. 1,” she said.
