Mariam Mkrtchyan to receive Woman Grandmaster title

Mariam Mkrtchyan has achieved her final — third — Woman Grandmaster (WGM) norm and her first International Master (IM) norm during the 2025 European Team Chess Championship, the Chess Federation reports.

Playing on the second board, Mkrtchyan scored 6.5 points out of a possible 9, improving her rating by 35 points. Her current rating stands at 2353.

As her rating now exceeds the required 2300 threshold, Mariam Mkrtchyan will officially receive the title of Woman Grandmaster.
