Trump jokes as he still hopes to receive Nobel Peace Prize

U.S. President Donald Trump joked that he is still expecting to receive the Nobel Peace Prize, but “already in 2026.” The U.S. president’s remarks were broadcast on the White House website.

“I don’t think any [U.S.] president has ever stopped even a single war. I have stopped eight wars in eight months,” Trump said.

Trump expressed surprise that, despite this, he has not yet received the Nobel Peace Prize.

“Can you believe that? I even said it was impossible,” the U.S. president said, expressing hope that “it will be better next year.”
