Statement: We call on the RA authorities to change their disastrous position on the Artsakh issue

“Artsakh” patriotic non-governmental organization
made a statement, calling on the RA authorities to change their disastrous
position on the Artsakh issue.

The statement reads: “Since Dec. 12, 2022, Azerbaijan has
been committing a new crime against the Republic of Artsakh by imposing the
blockade. The total ban on the transportation of humanitarian aid, continuous
disruptions to gas and power supply, regular acts of military aggression and
provocations and the campaign of terror are aimed at breaking the free will of
the people of Artsakh, infringing on their right to self-determination and
forcibly subjugating them. In fact, the outcome will be ethnic cleansing.

It is noteworthy that the Republic of Artsakh acquired its
current legal and political status as a result of an exercise of the popular
will through three referendums, the Constitution adopted as a result, and the
formation of state agencies. The statehood of Artsakh and the right of the
people of Artsakh to be free and independent in their homeland are universal
values. And even the threat of war will not deter the people of Artsakh from
holding onto these values.

We demand that the authorities of the Republic of Armenia
change their disastrous position and hold onto these values. No authority holds
the right to either change the status of Artsakh, lulling people into a false
sense of peace, or lower the internationally recognized standards of people’s
right to self-determination. The RA authorities have to abide by the
Declaration of Independence, the RA Constitution and the July 8, 1992, decision
of the RA Supreme Council.

Dear compatriots, we call on everyone to join the Hayakve
initiative, to become its driving force, to actively participate and ask the
patriotic people around you to participate in the signature collection, so that
the exercise of the right of the people of Artsakh to self-determination will
become possible, in that Hayakve is a pan-Armenian initiative without any
restrictions or party affiliations.
