2 senior generals expelled from China’s Communist Party

Two top Chinese military leaders have been expelled from the ruling Communist Party and the military on corruption charges, CNN writes.

According to a statement from China’s Ministry of Defense, they were removed from their positions as part of an anti-corruption program.

This is the first removal of a serving general from the Central Military Commission since the Cultural Revolution of 1966-1976.
