Ceasefire in Gaza restored after yesterday’s disruption
A ceasefire that was briefly interrupted yesterday in the Gaza Strip has been restored, meduza.io writes, referring to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
The Israeli military carried out strikes in the Gaza Strip yesterday. The strikes targeted weapons depots, firing positions and other infrastructure used for terrorist activities. It was also reported that six kilometers of underground tunnels were destroyed.
The Israeli military said the attacks were in response to Hamas’s ceasefire violations. Earlier reports said Hamas attacked a patrol vehicle in Rafah, killing two soldiers and wounding two others.
Israel’s far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to resume large-scale military operations in the Gaza Strip due to ceasefire violations in the enclave.
“The false illusions that Hamas will change its position or even abide by the signed agreement, as expected, are becoming dangerous for our security. This neo-Nazi terrorist organization must be completely destroyed, and the sooner the better,” Ben-Gvir stated.
