You are a symbol of fear and hatred toward Armenians, Ruben Mkhitaryan a symbol of compassion, says Mkhitaryan

The left photo shows the late head coach of the Armenian men’s weightlifting team, Ashot Mkhitaryan, wrote Ruben Mkhitaryan, a member of the Gyumri City Council.

“During his coaching career, he trained 34 masters of sport and 12 international-level athletes. His personal students participated in the Olympic Games, World and European Championships, winning over 150 medals across various age groups and senior competitions.

Thanks to Ashot Mkhitaryan’s work, the Armenian flag was raised and the national anthem played more than 50 times at prestigious international sports venues.

The right photo shows his son, Ruben Mkhitaryan, who was recently detained for two months simply for trying to prevent Armenian citizens from being beaten in Gyumri’s central square.

Ashot Mkhitaryan is one of this country’s sporting symbols. Ruben is a symbol of compassion.
