Georgia to skip Euroneast Parliamentary Assembly session in Yerevan

Georgia has declined to participate in the 12th plenary session of the Euroneast Parliamentary Assembly, scheduled to take place in Yerevan from Oct. 28 to 30. This was stated in a letter from Levan Makashvili, head of the Georgian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly.

In the letter addressed to the Assembly’s co-presidents and bureau members, Makashvili noted that the organization’s recent activities have raised serious concerns. According to him, the hostile rhetoric and actions of certain members of the European Parliament contradict the principles of partnership and mutual respect that this platform is meant to uphold.
