Trump calls Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings a ‘little conflict’
U.S. President Donald Trump described the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki as a “little conflict,” RIA Novosti reports.
“It’s interesting that we had a little conflict with Japan. You may have heard about it. But after such a terrible event, our two countries remain the closest friends and partners you can imagine,” he said.
Trump also noted that the relationship between the two nations has been strong for a long time.
In August 1945, the United States dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The explosions killed approximately 220,000 people, and more than 200,000 others later died from radiation. The majority of the victims were civilians.
