New fraud scheme emerges under the name of Wildberries

Posts allegedly made by the online retail company Wildberries have begun to appear on social networks, spreading false information about the arrest of people who placed orders on the marketplace, the press service of the Wildberries&Russ company told TASS.

“Posts with clickbait headlines have started appearing on social media, claiming that someone has been ‘arrested for placing orders on Wildberries,’” the statement said.

According to the company, the person in question was reportedly arrested at a bank while attempting to withdraw a large amount of cash. After the arrest, he explained that the money had been “earned honestly” through Wildberries shares — a supposed investment scheme that, as claimed, allows people to make large profits every day.
