Artsakh Minister of Agriculture Georgi Hayriyan said that
intermittent power outages and diesel fuel shortages, caused by power
shortages, lead to irrigation issues as well.
“In this situation, considering the shortage of diesel fuel
supplies, we are not able to use diesel generators during intermittent power
outages. Thus, serious problems related to irrigation arise,” the minister
said.
According to Artsakhpress, Hayriyan noted that in the
majority of cases (75%) watering is done with automatic irrigation systems by
using artesian wells or pumps. Thus, this sector is affected by power shortages
as well.
