Yeraskh residents have their rights to life, property, freedom to conduct a business violated: Ombudsman’s report

The Human Rights Defender (Ombudsman) of Armenia presented
an ad hoc report on the violation of human rights as a result of the
Azerbaijani aggression in the direction of Yeraskh.

The document reveals cases of violation of human rights
recorded by the Ombudsman as a result of the fact-finding operations in
Yeraskh.

From June 13 to June 14, 2023, fire was opened on the
settlement of Yeraskh from Azerbaijani military positions. Yeraskh
metallurgical plant, which is being constructed through foreign investments,
was shelled rather heavily. Two Indian citizens got wounded and transferred to
hospital as a result.

As a result of the actions of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces,
the civilian population had their right to life, right to integrity of the
person, right to property, education and work, freedom to conduct a business
and a number of other fundamental rights violated.
