Trump threatens military action against Nigeria to protect Christians

U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that, under his orders, the Pentagon is going to carry out “rapid” military action in Nigeria if the killings of Christians in the African country do not stop, ABC News reports.

“If the Nigerian Government continues to allow the killing of Christians, the U.S.A. will immediately stop all aid and assistance to Nigeria, and may very well go into that now disgraced country, “guns-a-blazing,” to completely wipe out the Islamic Terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.

In response to Trump’s post, Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu said that the government is working with leaders of religious communities to find a solution to the situation.

In northern Nigeria, clashes between Christians and Muslims occur almost daily.
