George Lucas ‘escaping’ Trump’s America for UK

American director, producer, and screenwriter George Lucas is relocating from the United States to the United Kingdom. The Star Wars director reportedly wants to spend less time in the U.S. due to his disagreement with Trump’s policies, The Times writes.

According to the newspaper, the 81-year-old Lucas purchased a £40 million house in St John’s Wood, London, which could be the largest real estate purchase in the U.K. in 2025.

St John’s Wood is well-known among members of the creative elite. Lucas’s neighbors will include, among others, Sir Paul McCartney, Keith Richards, and Ewan McGregor.

The director has not publicly commented on Donald Trump’s presidency; however, the newspaper notes that he reportedly views the current U.S. president very critically.
