Progress seen in efforts to resolve Ukraine conflict, says Trump

U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that tangible progress is being made in the process of resolving the conflict in Ukraine. He made the remarks during a meeting with the leaders of five Central Asian countries.

“Russia and Ukraine — we haven’t yet reached peace here, but I believe we have achieved significant progress,” Trump said.

He also expressed hope that, at some point, the conflicting sides would “act rationally,” leading to a final settlement of the issue.
