
People hospitalized as suspicious white powder package delivered to military base near Washington
Several people were hospitalized at Joint Base Andrews, located near Washington, after the delivery of a suspicious package containing white powder, CNN reports, citing sources.
As a precaution, personnel were evacuated from the building where the package was delivered, as well as from a nearby building. Emergency services are on the scene. According to preliminary information, there is no immediate threat to life. The composition of the material has not yet been determined, but experts in hazardous substances have initially concluded that it does not pose a danger.
The package also reportedly contained materials related to political propaganda.
Joint Base Andrews, located near Washington, is used for air transport of the U.S. president, vice president, and other senior administration officials.
