Hamas ready to withdraw forces from areas of Gaza under Israeli control
Hamas has informed mediators that it is ready to withdraw its fighters from the parts of the Gaza Strip that are under Israeli military control, Hamas Spokesperson Ismail Radwan told Al Jazeera.
“We have informed the mediators of our readiness to withdraw fighters from the yellow zone,” Radwan said, referring to the “yellow line” — the area from which Israeli forces have retreated under the ceasefire agreement.
He added that Hamas is trying “to resolve as soon as possible” the issue of returning the bodies of deceased hostages to Israel.
At the same time, Radwan stated that Hamas continues to record ceasefire violations by Israel, noting that since the ceasefire came into effect, the death toll has reached 241.
