Stand up for your mandate to ensure peace: Artsakh HRD to Russian peacekeepers
HRD of Artsakh Gegham Stepanyan addressed all actors of the
international community from Renaissance Square.
“You say human rights. How can I look these people in the
eyes and say that they, too, have rights? It’s one thing to talk about human
rights in beautiful and luxurious halls, and it’s a completely different thing
to put it into practice. While you are merely expressing concerns, 120,000
people in Artsakh are being subjected to inhumane deprivation,” said Stepanyan.
The HRD emphasized that the time for talking has long since
passed. It is time to take concrete actions now.
Addressing the Russian peacekeepers, Gegham Stepanyan said:
“We were promised peace. Peace does not imply reports of ceasefire violations
in the newsletters every day. Peace is not being held hostage in one’s own
homeland, deprived of everything. Stand up to your mandate to ensure real peace,
to ensure the prosperous life you promised our people at the level of
highest-ranking officials.”
